The Ripps are a trio who were formed in the autumn 2003, through a shared love of legends such as The Clash, Pixies and The Buzzcocks.
The band release their brand new single 'Holiday' through Catskills Records on June 11th
As the track begins, you can just imagine your parents waking you up on 'holiday day' , and telling you to get ready for the trip. Once you arrive, you can smell the sea air and hear the change ringing from those arcade machines on the pier.
The track is fast, punchy and most importantly of all, it's fun to listen to. A tongue in cheek tale of alchoholic misadventure, singer Patch defines it as "a hangover song, an anecdotal tale of debauchery. Going out on a school night with the knowledge that you've got work the next day and that moment of realisation halfway through the evening when its too late to turn back." and we all know what they feels like!
'Black Eye', an exclusive non album track, is a menacing tirade that grips you around the throat as soon as it starts. It could be descibed as the hangover from hell after the holiday drinking you took part in the night before.
This classic Sex Pistols-esque track is packed full of angst and debauchery. It's fast and furious but insanely exciting to listen to.
The single for Holiday is taken from the band's uproarious debut album 'Long Live The Ripps', which is out now.
