From the off it’s apparent that this latest release by JoFo is something special which at times distances it’s self from previous releases. The opening is haunting and beautiful in equal measures, with harmonies balanced by distant piano and guitar lines.

The EP blasts into action with ‘Twin Sisterzz’ a single that is sure to be a big live favourite. Blasts of indie pop are perfectly blended into haunting backing vocals and an uncomfortable ending of heavy breathing and jagged guitars.

The haunting theme continues throughout the development of the EP which flows into acoustic cleverness with ‘Certain Songs’ which tells the tale of a broken relationship and a cursed songs taking control. The balance between the acoustic backing and the vocal beauty is contrasted with a spooky piece of spoken word.

Overall this EP is strangely beautiful and switches sporadically between the indie pop we have come to expect and love from Johnny Foreigner and a much darker side to the band.
