Leeds based rock band Dinosaur Pile Up have only been together for little under a year, but they have already notched up some impressive achievements. 2009 began with the band releasing their debut single ‘My Rock ‘n’ Roll,’ which was a limited edition single and quickly sold out while catching the attention of Zane Lowe and other Radio DJ giants.

Things continued to heat up after the release of their second single ‘Traynor,’ which also caught the eyes and ears of the big wigs at Kerrang and Rock Sound magazines who wrote raving reviews about the band.

Now, Dinosaur Pile Up are ready to step up and release their new E.P, modestly titled ,’The Most Powerful E.P in the Universe,’ which is released on August 17th through the band’s own record label Big Brain Records.

With the summer always being the season for festival fun, Dinosaur Pile Up have created an E.P that is well suited for listening to while soaking up the sunlight. The perfect soundtrack for summer, ‘The Most Powerful E.P in the Universe’ boasts tracks such as ‘Summer Hit Single,’ which is one long punk rock extravaganza, accompanied by pulsating riffs and melodies.

Dinosaur Pile Up cleverly weave their influences through the E.P in the form of Weezer-esque tracks such as ‘Opposites Attract,’ and ‘Melanin.’ Meanwhile, tracks such as ‘Cat Attack,’ and ‘Beach Bug,’ give the E.P a grungier and harder edge.

Described by Rock Sound magazine as the missing piece in the rock music world, it’s safe to say that ‘The Most Powerful E.P in the Universe,’ will cement the band’s place in this small segment of the music industry. Dinosaur Pile Up have brought everything needed to make a great rock E.P, to the table and have experimented with it to cause tremendous effects.

The first single from the E.P is ‘Summer Hit Single,’ and will be released on August 17th.
