The last time we reviewed Young Guns, they were mere newbies on the music scene, but as I write this they have enjoyed success as Best British Newcomer and Best New Band in Rock Sound and Kerrang! magazine’s readers poll. On this very day they are currently gracing the front cover of Kerrang! magazine, living up to their new rock star personas and lapping up the success that has recently swamped them.
Young Guns are set to release their debut album ‘All Our Kings Are Dead’ on July 12th with their new single ‘Crystal Clear,’ set to follow. For anyone that has heard previous releases from the band, while listening to the band’s new single, you will be able to hear a progression in their sound, a more professional quality and a band that sound like they know what they’re doing.
For someone that receives tons of CDs through the post every week, it’s nice to receive something that really stands out. ‘Crystal Clear’ is full on. An explosion of musical dynamite, extravagant riffs and bulchy vocals document the journey of “growing up and realising that things aren’t delivered to you on a plate.”
Fans are watching this band make their way through the ranks to fully fledged stars and that platform seems to be getting closer and closer by the day. Young Guns have produced a single that doesn’t hang about; they get stuck in straight away with hard-hitting, atmospheric rock music that is unforgettable.
