As a New Year's resolution, AmpedReviews.net are trying to feature more local talent from the Southampton area, so I was extremely pleased when Not Advised's debut single 'You're The Designers, We're The Deciders,' dropped through my letter box.
Not Advised are a five piece rock band from The New Forest, Southampton who already have a massive list of accomplisments under their belts. The band rocked up and played at the as titled Nokia contest, winning themselves a set on the Nokia stage at the Isle Of Wight Festival and generating interest from the likes of Reading Festival organisers, T4 and Alex Zane.
Through gaining the most votes in an online poll, Not Advised bagged themselves the opening slot on the recent Taste Of Chaos tour in the Portsmouth Guildhall, supporting the likes of Aiden and The Used. I'm kicking myself now, as I was supposed to be at that show!
Not Advised have worked their way up the ladder and are now signed with Melodramatic Records. They've recorded their much anticipated debut single 'You're The Designers, We're The Deciders,' with Hundred Reason's Larry Hibbit.
'You're The Designers, We're The Deciders,' will get you instantly hooked. It's a damn catchy fast paced track with a pop punk twist and James Thomas's vocals compliment it perfectly.
The neck cracking instrumental is completely unexpected but works brilliantly and shows off the band's obvious talent, it's bound to get all the moshers going absolutely crazy.
Not Advised are deffinately a band to watch out for in 2008. 'You're The Designers, We're The Deciders,' will be released on February 11th 08.
