Formed in 2001 by Jared Leto, who is well known for his roles in 'Fight Club' and 'Requiem For A Dream,' 30 Seconds To Mars have already sold over 900,000 copies to date and were recently awarded MTV Best Video Award for 'The Kill.'
First single and first track on the album 'Attack,' does exactly what it says on the tin; it viciously attacks the listener with abrasive guitars and electronica hooks, whipped up deliciously with intimate pain-stricken vocals.
'Was It A Dream?,' is a typical track about a lost romance but it's unoriginality is scrapped away due to the use of melodic, moody rhythms and powerful, atmospheric choruses.
Seductive whispering follows up in 'The Fantasy,' a track that explodes with passion and pleading and is my favourite track from the album.
'A Beautiful Lie,' is a pure rock album riddled with emotion and frustration, intertwined with melodies and anthemic guitar riffs.
Many actors have tried their hand at producing music and most of them have failed miserably but thats certainly not the case with 30 Seconds To Mars and they've proved it. The band have gone from strength to strength as musicians, song-writers and live performers who are now embarking upon a US Tour.
